Great Wolf Lodge supports two great charities

Autism Speaks and Make A Wish Foundation

Wow!!  That is one of many words of how I can describe the Great Wolf Lodge’s “Don’t Let the Sun Set ”Summer Solstice Celebration! June 21, 2019 -- 9:30pm-1:00am.

When I first saw that Great Wolf Lodge was supporting two of my favorite charities, I knew I had to attend and spread the word.  But wait, the time was 9:30 pm? Yes, from 9:30 pm to 1:00 am.  Now, this mama usually is in bed at 9:00 pm. How was I going to do a 9:30 pm event, let alone take my two autistic boys out? Though it was not an event, I wanted to miss.

We arrived at the Great Wolf Lodge around 9:15 pm.  We have heard about the Great wolf lodge, but we had never been.  We are so happy we attended. It was amazing.  Check in went smoothly, and Friendly hellos and howls greeted us.

The boy's eyes grew big and were amazed at the wonder that lay ahead of them. Oh, which direction should we head first?

As we entered, there were two tables sets up for the charities. Autism speaks and Make a wish foundation. Both are wonderful charities.

We found chairs to set our stuff on, and away the kids went. Though next time we know to grab a table and put our things on.  It would have made eating so much easier.

The kids decided on the lazy river.  They grabbed a raft and went around, just once though, there was too much to explore.

The favorite of them both was the wave pool. Oh, the smiles and the laughter was such a joy to witness.  At the water park, they had a life vest for the kids, which was perfect for my little guy.

My oldest wanted to climb and explore everything, the water slides, and more. He is more of my thrill seeker. I leave the water slides and adventurous stuff for him and his daddy. I took my little guy in the pools, where we played basketball, and just floated around, more of my speed.

We had s’mores, cookies, and lemonade. That is when I was able to get the kids to stop for a bit.

It was almost midnight, and we did not even realize how late it was. We were inside the entire time, the temperature was perfect, and the water was not cold.  It was not crowded and the best part to know that all the people that were there were supporting two great causes.  We all had a great time, and the kids are asking to return.

I am looking forward to the next charity event.
