Volcanoes 3D: The Fires of Creation Now Playing ~ California Science Center ~

Updated: May 31, 2019

This is a must see. We were invited to watch a showing of Volcanoes 3D, it was amazing!

My 12 year autistic son was very interested and kept focused all through the film. My youngest autism boy, like most things we do, looses focus. Even though he wouldn't wear the glasses, he did watch it up to about the last six minutes. I thought that it was great to hold his attention for that long even without the 3D glasses.

Volcanoes 3D:

The Fires of Creation is a tale of science, culture, and thrilling adventure! Earth is a planet born of fire. For billions of years, volcanoes have helped create the world we know. From the continents to the air we breathe and even life itself, all have their origins in fire. With over 500 active volcanoes, Earth is bursting at the seams with these forces of mass construction. The story of volcanoes is the story of the planet’s creation, and the story of us.

With intrepid explorer and National Geographic Photographer Carsten Peter as your guide, dodge boulders at the edge of an active volcano in Indonesia, descend to a lava lake in Vanuatu, and visit the incredible mineral deposit fields in Ethiopia. Travel across the globe to see the archaeological ghost town of Pompeii and witness the devastating effects of the recent Kilauea eruption in Hawaii.

You'll be on the edge of your seat as you discover molten worlds and exploding craters in this adrenaline-filled, immersive experience on our 7-story IMAX screen!
